Mega Man II
Platform Played On: NES
ABOUT
Mega Man II is a continuation of the original Mega Man game. It features 8 Robot Masters to defeat and brand new powerups to go along with them alongside 3 more powerups that you get by just progressing through the game.
STORY
The story continues from the previous game as Dr. Wily this time made his own Robot Masters to defeat Mega Man instead of taking them from Dr. Light. There really isn't as much story but it's really straight forward.
GAMEPLAY
Now, Unlike the previous game, This game actually improves on the previous game a lot. This game is Challenging but like, In a actual good way and it's no wonder that many people loves this game quite a bit. The levels are laid out much better alongside better enemy placements and etc. In this game, you do get 3 different powerups as you progress through the game that isn't related to the robot masters, which for the most part is used to have movement around a place. This game also features a brand new system using E Tanks. Now E Tanks are basically a Health item that you can use from your pause screen as long as you have one on hand and it replinishes only your health (Sadly there's no item that heals everything at once unlike the previous game. The bosses in this game are all really good and pretty solid, I noticed that the bosses I have the most trouble was Quick Man, Air Man, and Wood Man though Wood Man more than the others but once you learn how it is, he's really not that bad either. The new abilities are all really good additions to Mega Man's arsenal, Alongside they all have better Power usage you can use. Like there's stages where you can use Metal Man's ability to slash through a bunch of enemies to farm for more pickups. Speaking of, The pickups are even better as they drop more frequently, Pair with other enemies being a lot easier to kill, This game is just quite fun overall and it makes me really excited to play the other games. Overall, It's really solid game and it's more fair and challenging.
MUSIC
The music in this is A LOT better in my opinion, None of it was noisy, All the tracks was a bop to listen to. I never really felt any annoyance what so ever with the tracks and they hold up pretty well. Like, No wonder many people likes to remix Mega man II so much!
FINAL THOUGHTS
Mega Man II is a solid NES game overall, They took the bad parts and made them even better. I will not lie, There is like very few bullshit moments in the mix when it comes to going through areas like the one part with those beams that comes from the side or in Dr. Wily's castle with the huge gap to the ladder and even the fourth area of Dr. Wily's castle where you have to ride the platform. But despite this, THIS is a good Mega Man game.
