Twitter ended up shitting the bed the hardest


Ahhh, I kinda wanted to start this blog talking about some more recent developments surrounding Twitter. Now, For a while now Elon Musk has had his grasps over Twitter which is now called X or what I like to call Xitter. Overtime, He's done various things to the site that made it more different than what it used to be. Now, How I could see this as an Experiment of a boiling Frog where it's all a fitness test to see how much you can make really bad changes to the site til people finally leave the site for good. Going from adding Twitter Blue where you can get HUGE benefits that could boost your posts to even getting paid from the engagement, To now you can't properly block people and that you will have to accept the fact that your posts will be fed to the AI Grok. This of course made so many people Mad, Though there's one site that's kinda been on and off for the past year when it comes to features FINALLY getting some light because it became a Feature complete site, And that site is Bluesky. Bluesky this past couple of days have been skyrocketing in popularity because people has had enough of Elon's bullshit and has now finally found a place to welcoming. So why am I putting this in my blogpost? Well, I have a Bluesky account that you can follow! As much as I do harp how much I kinda don't like Social Media, This time it truly is a different experience and something I have not felt is a bit of an Decade at this point. People are nicer, there's no algorithm, Hardly no bots and everything else. I have seen posts day by day of how all these big creators going out of their way saying how nice it all is now and how they feel like they could interact with others a lot better and want to change it all up. DNS stuff and more Bullshit


Okay, I don't know. When I post this, I do not know if it will shit the bed if I try to post this but I'm hoping that I finally got to fix the DNS issue I had previously trying to switch from my last Domain Registar. But as it seems, Things are going smoothly again. So, if my site goes down I'm going to flip my table if it doesn't work all of a sudden posting this update. Bluesky did have a moment when it came to my handle but it seems to work now, again. So i'm basing on that it's working again. Okay, a bit of a fucking RANT about the bullshit that my last Registar Gandi.net is doing. Over the years I had a Domain from 2018, that I've used as my primary domain for all these years. And most of the time it costed me like 13-15$ per year to renew my domain. Well, Last year it costed me 20$ plus about 70$ for my email since they took away my free email provider litterally last year. Well, They decided to upcharge me DOUBLE the amount this year! 40$ for a single domain that does not even INCLUDE the email. I would be paying a whopping 111$ per year for this domain I just use for my personal email account that I use for Taxes and other important shit regarding bills. So I sent a disgruntled message to them and I did get a reply this morning with a offering to me for a discount on the email.


Basically, The answer I got from the email is this:

  • "(i) Firstly, we have invested in the security and resilience of our infrastructure with the ambition of establishing Gandi's LiveDNS as one of the 5 best Anycasted DNS networks in the world."
  • "(ii) Secondly, we are obliged to respond to the new European security directive (NIS2) which classifies all DNS services as essential entities. This has required Gandi to obtain certification against industry standards such as ISO27001 and to adopt new security measures to comply with these regulations."
  • "(iii) finally, to a lesser extent, we have also had to adjust our prices due to increases in costs from the registries that supply Gandi so that we do not have to compromise on the reliability and security of our services."

    • But it doesn't make any sense how I went from paying 13-15$ per year to now paying 111$ to have my domain with an Email. It shouldn't cost THAT much for this service to me, It's utterly ridiculous! Oh and don't get me started, I get a fuck ton of spam and scam emails as well, Which feels ironic to me. So yeah, I'm going to try and move my Domain to the one that Anonicus.net uses now. If you need to know, It's Namecheap. And for how much It can cost me now, It's an mere 15$ for the domain and 15$ for the email per year. Basically even if I got both and I'm paying 15$ for my old domain going forward, It's still way cheaper than what Gandi is trying to get me to pay them yearly (Which I would not doubt that it would get even more expensive yearly...)


    I got a new TV and Keyboard!


    Actually the TV I got is a Karayoke Machine I got for 10$... It doesn't work. Yeah it's very unfortunate because this this looks fucking SICK and looks like it can be used as a normal TV as well. But basically, it can power on but the screen doesn't turn on except for the typical whirling sound... also a chance to embed my Bluesky posts :3

    I feel so lucky today since I just fucking got a #CRT karaoke machine. I have to try out and see if it works.

    As for my keyboard!

    Oh yeah I got a new keyboard as well with a PS/2 port. I like it better.

    This thing feels different but it's nice. I do like the additional buttons as it has because the previous one had this annoying ass Sleep button for times I want to press ESC key on it. It was quite annoying. But I am pleased with this one. It didn't seemed used as I still had it in a bag but one of the sides was opened so there was plenty of dust that was in there from years of it being put to the side until the house got emptied.


    Anyways, This blogpost took some time to make, Imma go now. Seeyah everyone!
